Dollar-savvy purchasers are turning to the cost-efficient and environmentally friendly alternative of remanufactured products. Consumers can get a high quality, fully warranted solution at a low cost. In today’s economy with high priced electronics and building costs, many theater contractors are looking for money saving options. SeatsAndChairs.com now offers the CI Remanufactured Marquee theater chair. Described as a remanufactured chair of new fabric, new foam, new plastic shells, and new steel paint, one customer said, “They are undistinguished able from new.”

After many years of use in movie theaters, most chairs can not be revived simply by a little cleaning and scrubbing. Popcorn butter, soda, and gum are the biggest culprits of theater chair abuse. However, there is no need to just throw them in the trash with perfectly good frames. SeatsAndChairs.com has taken these chairs which have unsalvageable fabric and shells and remanufactured them to be good as new and equal in performance as new. Except for the lower cost, you wouldn’t know it was used.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-02-07T18:44:08Z</dcterms:modified>

New Product Announcement

Remanufactured black Marquee theater chair

With the new year, SeatsAndChairs.com has introduced the black Marquee remanufactured theater chair to fullfill the demands of our customers with this inexpensive "like-new" theater seating option. Finding home theater seating that fits your body and
budget is were the real work comes in. With so many price ranges
(from $99 to $1000) it is enough to make your head spin. A quality
commercial grade movie chair should last at least 25 years with
regular movie theater patron use. Here's how to pick one that won't
break your back or your budget.

A Moving Experience
Similar to Goldilocks' dilemma, which chair is just right? A true
rocker theater chair back and seat rock in unison when you sit back
into the chair. The rocking mechanisms differ from each chair model.
For a customized rocking motion the tension can be adjusted. The
inner workings of these models include a rubber block which controls
the rocker. The softer the rubber, the smoother the rock. For a
stiffer rock choose a harder rubber. Until you find the one that
is "just right".
Another option is the lounger back chair. These chairs are similar
to the true rockers with the exception, the seats are stationary.
This chair uses a tension spring for the back. If all this moving is
too much for you, or you simply do not have the room. A fixed back
chair is the way to go. Unlike the traditional, upright theatre
chairs of the past, newer models feature multiple pitch positions.
You can position the backs in a fixed recline or more upright.

Take a Seat
Theater chairs are like a good pair of shoes - looks are important,
but you won't wear them if they are uncomfortable. When shopping for
home theater seating consider the way you would sit in the movie
theater. Ask yourself: Would my feet touch the floor? Where would my
head and neck lay on the headrest? How's the cushioning? And look
for foam with a high density rating, which will ensure that it keeps
its shape longer. Chairs upholstered in commercial grade fabric are
the most durable. They are designed to withstand normal wear and
tear of commercial movie theaters. We all know and have seen what
your local theater chairs are put through. Don't forget to ask how
many times a sample of the fabric has been machine-tested for
durability - you want one that's been rubbed at least 10,000 times.

Finally, with any furniture purchase, check the manufacturer's
guarantee and opt for one that covers you for at least 1 year.

What I've Found
Modern - Today's slim lined chairs, like the sleek Reno model in
soft velour, fit perfect in any room of the house. The ultra smooth
rocker makes this an extremely comfortable chair. And the memory
foam seat topper is a great added upgrade. No need for the sofa, you
could easily sit in this one for hours! (Reno 40" true rocker;
SeatsAndChairs.com, $389)

Traditional - The simple lines of the Marquee model offers comfort
while looking like the traditional cinema seating used in many
theaters today. The ergonomic contours of the upholstered back and
the cushioned seat combine extraordinary comfort and design. (Used
Texas Marquee; SeatsAndChairs.com, $129)

Retro - The fun, bold style of the Star Delight features a high back
for perfect head and neck support. Its elaborate shape and red color
option ensure it'll hold its own in any room- and won't blend into
the woodwork. A center pad creates a snuggle area loveseat when the
shared armrest is lifted up, great for when you want to get close.
(Star Delight 43" true rocker; SeatsAndChairs.com, $339)

A statistic Mr. Kovacs (V.P. of Sales at SeatsAndChairs.com, Inc.) learned at a recent Home Video Trade Show in Las Vegas holds promise for the home theater seating industry. Namely, that thirteen million flat screen televisions were sold in the USA during 2006 alone. 13 million! And there is no reason to think that the plasma and LCD flat screen television popularity will not continue to increase.
It follows to reason that at least some of these new plasma and LCD TV owners will want to upgrade their TV room to a home theater with home theater seating such as leather home theater chairs or even real movie theater seats like those that are found at: http://www.SeatsAndChairs.com
SeatsAndChairs.com has expanded their new home theater chair line up as well as their used home theater seating offerings.
In the new home theater seating category there are now: The Vegas, The Elite, The Big Boy, The Salsa Vegas, The Star Delight, The Genesis One, just to name a few.
In the used theater seating category there is currently being offered, The Ruby Marquee, The Cali Marquee, The California Rocker and The Avery Marquee, just to name a few.
All together SeatsAndChairs.com is currently offering well over 40 home theater chair models to choose from. They also offer custom seating, in a myriad of fabric choices and chair sizes.
The staff at SeatsAndChairs scours the Internet making sure that they are offering the lowest price.
Their best price guarantee states "Did you know that SeatsAndChairs would match any home theater seating competitor's price on home theatre seats? The price must be legitimate, recent, shown in writing, and the price must be for the same chair. Price Match is subject to certain terms and conditions, call 1-800-632-7657 for details."
Although many order their home theater chairs on line at http://seatsandchairs.com/seats_chairs.asp even more people still order their home theatre seating over the phone. This is because since 2002 SeatsAndChairs.com's knowledgeable staff has helped people with model comparisons, room layout, and has even offered volume discounts. Their answers are always free, why even the phone call is free; try SeatsAndChairs.com Home Theater Seating Toll Free Hotline at 1-800-632-7657 today.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-11-27T16:34:18Z</dcterms:modified>

Lone Star seating added to Home Theater Seating lineup

Ruby Marquee barely used home theater seating.

Congratulations, you just found the best deal out there on home theater seating!

Their loss is your gain! Let me explain.

SeatsAndChairs now has in stock the Ruby Marquee theater chair.

These high quality theater chairs were recently delivered to a theater in Las Vegas, (can’t tell you which Las Vegas Strip resort these came from, but remember Robin Williams was the voice of a genie…”?), well anyhow the fabric color was wrong, it was not what they had ordered. Oops! To make things worse for the theater, they had a special event scheduled so they had no choice but to install and use the chairs. So, yes these chairs were used JUST ONCE, and then the theater got their replacements.

Bad news for the manufacturer, good news for you.

These practically new theater chairs, with the their upgraded ruby red velour upholstery and upgraded padded cup holder armrests regularly sell for $369.99 new, but you can get them at http://www.SeatsAndChairs.com for just $149.00 each!

Bass Shaker Info! What is a Bass Shaker? Well, "Bass Shakers" (also known as Butt Shakers) are electronic devices that are attached to the frame of the chair, and attach to your sound system. The Butt Shaker is a low frequency device that enables the person sitting in the chair to feel rather than hear the low end (bass) of movies and music.

These Bass Shakers have brought sound to life. Bass shakers may ship separately from the chairs. (Usually 1 Bass Shaker for every other seat works fine.)

Home theater seating with transducer.

What is the best home theater chair transducer?

Is it the Butt Kicker? The Aura Bass Shaker? The Clark transducer?

Getting the most ‘bang for your buck” at under $100 the Aura Bass Shaker delivers.

What scenes are best for the home theater seating with a transducer?

Matrix Reloaded chase scene, T-Rex stomping through Jurassic Park, or the Titanic crashing into an iceberg?

How many transducers do you need?

Real movie theater chairs like the Vegas or Elite you can use 1 for every other chair, same goes for some of the larger recliners like the leather Orion’s. The largest home theater chairs, like the leather Berkline 090 are best when equipped with there own individual transducer.

Answers to Common Home Theater Seating Questions...

Tampa Bay, FL August 15, 2006 -- Today, many new homes are being built with home theater rooms. Home theater rooms need home theater seats and chairs. Even older homes are getting home theaters. Finished basements, garages, bonus rooms, across the USA, they are all being converted into home theater, movie viewing rooms.

There are basically two categories of home theater seating. The first is the real, authentic movie theater chair, exactly like you sit in at an actual movie theater. These are available online at websites such as SeatsAndChairs.com and Bass Ind. They have flip-up seats, cup holder armrests, and may feature lift-up armrests as well. For example see the Elite Home Theater Seating model at SeatsAndChairs.com: http://seatsandchairs.com/products.asp?CategoryID=2

The second category is the reclining lounger. The leather reclining home theater chair is the most popular; with it’s cup holder armrests and flip out footrests. For an example of this type of chair see the Orion at SeatsAndChairs.com, at: http://seatsandchairs.com/products_detail.asp?CategoryID=2&ProductID=67&pagesize=200¤tpage=1

The bottom line is, home theaters are fun. Having a home theater at your house makes movie watching an event. Video games come to life. Music sounds live. And sitting in a comfortable home theater seat adds immeasurably to the fun and excitement of the whole experience. Below are answers to several common questions.

Seven home theater-seating answers:

1. What are home theater seats?
A. Home theater seats are chairs specifically engineered and designed for viewing movies in a personal home theater setting. Most home theater seats share these features: 1. A cup holder built into the chairs armrest. 2. A shared armrest between each seat. 3A. For the real movie theater style chairs, a flip up seat cushion, or 3B. For the leather reclining lounger type home theater seating, a flip out foot rest. Additional upgrades like storage compartments, snack trays, and even electric motors to recline the chair are available, depending on the model.

2. What size should the home theater seats be?
A. The most popular real movie theater chairs are 22 inches wide, from center of armrest to center of armrest, and the seat is usually about 20 to 22 inches deep, and 36 to 40 inches tall. This is larger than say, 30 years ago, when the average theater chair was only 18 or 19 inches wide.
B. The most popular recliner style home theater chair is 24 inches wide, for the actual individual seat cushion. Heights usually run about 40 inches tall.

3. How do I determine the row length?
Most chair widths are given in center-to-center dimensions. So a chair “22 inches wide” is measured from the center of one armrest to the center of the other armrest. So you multiply the number of chairs times the width. So, 3 chairs at 22” center to center equals 66”. That’s fine, but that is not the total length. You now have to add the other half of the armrests, at the ends of the row. This is usually 4 inches. So in the example, 3 X 22” = 66” + 4” = 70” total.

4. How many chairs will fit in my room?
A. Here are the basic things you need to take into consideration. You want the person sitting in the front row, actually the person’s head, to be 1 to 2 times the width of your screen, away from the screen. Say your screen in 100 inches wide. Then you want the eye of the person to be100 to 200 inches from the screen. Another basic thing is your aisle widths. A doorway is 36 inches wide, so use that as a guide. Some people like wide, say 48-inch aisles, others don’t mind a 20-inch aisle. Remember to allow room for doors to open, for stairs, and if you are using the recliners, allow room for the footrest. All of these issues need to be taken into consideration.
See… http://www.seatsandchairs.com/images/theaterlayoutmarquee.gif

5. Which home theater chair upgrade, or features are most popular?
A. Lift up cup holder armrests on the real movie theater chairs is very popular. Real Tempur-Pedic memory cushions are available on some models. There are real movie theater chairs that have rocking back only, and then there is the true rocker, in other words with a true rocker, both the back and seat rock when you lean back in the chair. A silent gravity lift seat bottom prevents the need for maintenance or lubrication. Leather reclining loungers can have a power option added. Also look for a wall away feature, that means the chair can be set up close to a wall, and still fully recline without hitting the wall.
See… http://www.seatsandchairs.com/LeatherHomeTheaterSeatingTool.html

6. Do I need a riser?
A. This concerns your line of sight. If you can get the bottom of your screen high enough off the floor, then no you do not need risers. Usually if your screen is 3 feet off the ground, that is enough. Riser height can vary from 4 inches to 12 inches per step. With 6 to 8 inches being the most popular height. However if you want tall chairs, say 40 or 42-inch tall chairs, then risers may be necessary.
See a very helpful diagram at… http://www.seatsandchairs.com/HomeTheaterRiserPlatformInstructions.html

7. How much do the home theater chairs cost?
A. Prices range from $99 each (+S/H) for a used chair up to $1,500 each chair (+S/H) for a new state-of-the-art leather recliner home theater chair, with all the bells and whistles. And practically any price in between. The Elite or the Vegas home theater chairs at SeatsAndChairs.com run around $350 each (+S/H). You can see the prices of home theater seating, and order home theater chairs online at http://www.SeatsAndChairs.com, or you can simply call toll-free at 1-800-632-7657.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-15T18:49:26Z</dcterms:modified>

New Friscos in the Santa Fe Community College

These home theater chairs are ergonomically engineered: The additional height of the back offers soft firm support to the scapula and thoracic regions of the back. 18 degrees to 26 degrees back angle range allows for maximum comfort. The slight concavity of the lumbar region requires soft but firm supports with a radius contour to reduce stress. For maximum comfort, the sacrum region requires little support to alleviate all pressure. Seat contours move away from the coccyx area to avoid pressure on the tailbone. The ischial tuberosities area is one f the most critical points in determining seat comfort, and the Palm Beach’s design addresses this well. The home theater seats cushion provides firm support to prevent tension, stress, and fatigue in the upper thigh and hip. The other critical area in seat comfort is the popliteal region. Softer padding and a waterfall front contour relieve pressure and improve blood circulation in the lower thigh. 15 degrees seat angle allows for maximum comfort.

Thirteen answers about home theater seats and chairs. By Wil Kovacs.

Today, many new homes are being built with home theater rooms. Home theater rooms need home theater seats. These rooms are specifically designed, and made for: watching movies, DVD’s, video games, and listening to high quality digital music.

Even older homes are getting home theaters. Finished basements, garages, bonus rooms, across the USA, they are all being converted into home theater, movie viewing rooms.

There are basically two categories of home theater seats.

The first is the real, authentic movie theater chair, exactly like you sit in at an actual movie theater. These are available online at websites such as SeatsAndChairs.com and HomeCinemaDecor.com. They have flip-up seats, cup holder armrests, and may feature lift-up armrests as well. For example see the Elite model at SeatsAndChairs.com: http://seatsandchairs.com/products.asp?CategoryID=2

The second category is the reclining lounger. The leather reclining home theater chair is the most popular; with it’s cup holder armrests and flip out footrests. For an example of this type of chair see the Orion at SeatsAndChairs.com, at: http://seatsandchairs.com/products_detail.asp?CategoryID=2&ProductID=67&pagesize=200&currentpage=1

The reasons to buy one or the other include: size of your home theater room, how many people you wish to seat, as well as if you want a real movie theater experience (in which case you would go with the real movie theater chairs) or would like be able to recline flat, not minding if you even catch a nap now and again in the chair.

The bottom line is, home theaters are fun! Having a home theater at your house makes movie watching an event. Video games come to life. Music sounds live. And sitting in a comfortable home theater seat adds immeasurably to the fun and excitement of the whole experience. Here are answers to the 13 most commonly asked questions regarding home theater seats.

1. What are home theater seats?

A. Home theater seats are chairs specifically engineered and designed for viewing movie in a personal home theater setting.

The most popular real movie theater chairs are 22 inches wide, from center of armrest to center of armrest, and the seat is usually about 20 to 22 inches deep, and 36 to 40 inches tall. This is larger than say, 30 years ago, when the average theater chair was only 18 or 19 inches wide.

Note this quote: From the Richmond Times Dispatch Apr 16, 2005 BY CLARKE BUSTARD. "Seats in the historic movie palace in Carytown are 18 inches wide, the same as an economy-class seat in the Boeing MD-80 flown by American Airlines. And there's less legroom: 27½ inches from the back of a seat to the back of the seat in front of it at the theater, compared with 31 to 32 inches on the plane.&
